LADY BULLDOG BASKETBALL
HEAD COACH TERRY SWEENEY
Terry Sweeney begins his 24th year of coaching this 2018-19 season. The last 12 of those years have been here, at Jay Public Schools. His start at Jay began in 2007 coaching the Lady Bulldogs, resulting in two state tournament appearances. In 2013, he moved to the boys’ basketball program, and had multiple trips to the area playoffs . This season, he returns to the girls’ basketball program looking to build on last year’s successes. Terry’s wife, Misty, is also a teacher at Jay Public Schools. His sons, Jordan and Garrett, are JPS graduates, and his daughters, Landrey and Sloane, currently attend Jay Schools.
ASSISTANT COACH SAMANTHA ROBERTSON-EIKE
Samantha Robertson-Eike graduated from Jay High School in 2009. She played college softball for 4 years in Lawrence, KS and then returned to Oklahoma to complete her Human and Health Performance degree from Northeastern State University. She is currently in her 3rd year of coaching. Coach Robertson-Eike is the head junior softball coach, assistant high school softball coach, and coaches junior high and high school basketball. She is looking forward to a great teacher/coaching career at Jay Public Schools. Go Bulldogs!
HEAD COACH MIGUEL ORTIZ
Coach Ortiz has been coaching for 7 years. He has coached football, basketball, track, baseball, and cross country. He is currently the head high school boys’ basketball coach. This is his 3rd year at Jay, and the previous 2 years he was the assistant under Terry Sweeney. They have had great success the last few years, and he looks to keep that tradition going. He is looking forward to a great season and is very excited for the opportunity. Go Bulldogs!!!
ASSISTANT COACH BRANDON LIERLE
Brandon Lierle graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 2007. He has been coaching for 11 years. Before coming to Jay, he spent 1 year at Miami as an assistant football, basketball, and baseball coach. Before coaching at Miami, he spent 2 years as the head boys basketball and baseball coach at Hulbert Public schools. In 11 years as a coach, he has coached: baseball, boys and girls basketball, cross country, football, fast and slow pitch softball, and golf.
